"The lunatics,... uh,... creators of Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?, Vol. 1, author Dachima Inaka and illustrator Iida Pochi, continue on in this second light novel about the worst government idea to help you in history: a live in, live MMORPG designed to suck MMORPG playing Japanese children and their relatively clueless parents into it in order to adventure together and presumably learn how to communicate with and get along with each other better… (HAH!)
In this novel the beta-testing team from the first novel:
Masato Oosuki: high school student MMORPG player Hero who doesn’t understand his Mom AT ALL;
Mamako Oosuki: doting, typical anime, manga, light novel mother (large boobs, looks like a slightly older sister, has no clue either about playing MMORPG’s or not embarrassing her son with her every move, also a Hero, but a much bigger, badder Hero;
Wise: high school student tsundere Sage (she can… and will repeatedly kill you and bring you back to life if you piss her off,... which is relatively easy to do); has Mom issues;
Porta: 12-year-old Traveling Merchant who has special abilities and talents for supporting the rest of the party while looking ridiculously cute; has Mom issues,
continue their quest to learn SOMETHING from this insane waste of government resources. However, this time they run into something that will look a little more familiar to many Americans: a Tiger Mom and her much abused (and resentful daughter) set amidst the deadliest dungeon of all:
School. Will lessons be learned? Yes,... sort of,... eventually….
Once again the crazy, whacked-out humor runs rampant; once again the author is struggling to tell a story with two-dimensional characters, but two-dimensional characters that are admittedly beginning to bulge into three dimensions. I’ve heard that an anime version is being made so I assume it will continue to get better,... hopefully.
Note: The series continues in Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?, Vol.3."

Do You Love Your Mom and Her TwoHit MultiTarget Attacks? Vol 2 light novel Do You Love Your Mom and Her TwoHit MultiTarget Attacks? light novel Dachima Inaka Pochi Iida Books Reviews
- I think the one detriment for me on this volume was the hand waviness of the issue between the new mom and daughter duo in the book. Let's just say, Medhi's mother "seen the light" by the power of Mamako. I don't think deep-seated issue can be solved with an apology+explanation and a good cry. But that's just me and I realized this series is suppose to be fun.
Other than that, it gave me a few chuckles and amusement to its humor throughout the book. It was for the most part a fun read of Mamako stealing the spotlight to Masato's dismay. - While this may be one of the cringier and more fan service heavy light novels from yen on, there is a very real charm to the story and I love it. I won't go super in depth, but through the story (despite incestual undertones) you get a story of a guy and his mom just trying to connect and understand one another while trying to be understood. That's the real heart of the story and makes it a pretty decent read.
