James Earl Jones Reads The Bible King James Version Audible Audio Edition Topics Media Group James Earl Jones Books Reviews

  • Beautiful version. His voice is epic and awesome!! He speaks perfectly...nice and quiet.....not too fast or too slow...just perfect. I am a Type A, and if I think it is perfect, that is amazing. Some other ones I heard over the years were way too slow, so you wanted them to get going. My other family members also think it is perfect. Love his voice. Well worth it to get this!! SUPERB
  • Love James Earl Jones, but the quality of the recording is subpar. The edits are often way louder than the other 90% of the recording. So you're sitting there enjoying calming JEJ reading...calm voice...calm voice...soothing voice...then BOOM LOUD JAMES EARL JONES FOR 3 WORDS...then back to calm voice...calm voice...and so on. That's my only complaint and it shouldn't stop you from ordering this. It's worth the money.
  • Love listening to "James Earl Jones Reads the Bible". It's hard sometimes for me to focus on reading such readings as the Bible. So much easier to have it read to you and James Earl Jones does a wonderful job doing just that. Love his voice which makes listening to it so much more interesting.
  • Jones has a resonant voice, but the continual background music, which influences as well as distracts the listener, annoyed me. I asked for a credit since I have never listened but to a few minutes of this unfortunate production. They do not do that.
  • Overall I enjoyed this audio version of the new testament. The sound quality was spot on. This had the usual deep bass of James Earle Jones. I have but one complaint. At times it seemed that Jones was reading a bit fast. Other than that I really liked this audio version of the Bible.
  • Thought I was getting the whole Bible - print size of the title is misleading. But the quality of the product and the price are still excellent. If I had known I was only getting the New Testament - I would have bought it anyhow.
  • James Earl Jones has a wonderful speaking voice. I was disappointed to hear the music in the background--very distracting. I have purchased the Bible by Alexander Scourby--comes in a very nice case; his voice is wonderful--more inflection than Mr. Jones, which I like--and NO music. Costs a little more; however you get the O.T. as well as the New and a nice case. The other CDs were in a cardboard box without a lid.
  • He does have a very relaxing voice but doesn't read the bible verbatim, and even skips words on a few of the CDs
